Recorrido precioso y muy variado que iniciamos en el mirador de la degollada de Tabaiba (carretera 436 Las Portelas- Masca). Subimos al Barracán para apreciar vistas de 360 grados, La Gomera y La Palma inclusive.
Dejamos de lado Teno Alto y nos adentramos a los barrancos de Los Barrancos, Taburco, Carrizal y Juan López. El paisaje es salvaje y solitario.
Después de una merecida cerveza en el mirador Cruz de Hilda (Bar, tapas) subimos por el PR 51, el cuál, pasando por la Cumbre del Carrizal, nos lleva de vuelta al coche.
Hay poca sombra durante el trayecto y conviene llevar bastante agua y protección solar. Barracán y Cumbre de Carrizal pueden ser bastante ventosos.
En los barrancos el terreno se presenta irregular, pedregoso y sin marcaciones, pero el sendero se reconoce bastante bien.
Great circular tour which we start at the Tabaiba pass on road 436, half way between Las Portelas and Masca, We ascend mount Barracán, leave Teno Alto to our right and hike through the gorges of Los Barrancos, Taburco, Carrizal and Juan López. The landscape is wild and solitary.
After a cold beer at the Cruz de Hilda look out, we hike up the PR 51 which, passing the Carrizal peek, leads us back to the car.
There is almost no shade on the whole tour, so bring enough water and sun protection. Barracán and Carrizal peek can be very windy.
In the gorges, the terrain is stony, irregular and there are no signs, but you can recognize the path most of the time.
