The beginning is a beautiful wooded hike with a steady ascent. Very muddy and rocky but fun. Many varieties of spring flowers blooming and several different types of butterflies.
When you get to the gate you can cut across via sheep trails or reverse our route and cross the stream taking the loop in a counter-clockwise route. There is the option to scramble up to the top of Mount Gable we skipped due to the wind factor. Still a great walk ... Very boggy ... waterproof boots are essential for this one.
