In the middle of Sicily, near the Pergusa Lake, on the top ofa hill, the path runs across the archeological area of Cozzo Matrice. Here during the bronze age, the indigenous people of Sicily founded a village with a large holy area dedicated to the ctonian Goddes. In hellenic times the Goddes became Demeter and Kore.
Along the path you can see not only the archeological rests of the ancient structures but also a large landscape all arond the sicily, from Etna to the East to Cammarata mount in the west. The area is part of the Rocca di Cerere UNESCO Global Geopark.
