közel Lyme Regis, England (United Kingdom)
The walk started and ended in Lyme Regis. There was a choice of a 5-mile or a 9-mile circuit, both of which finished with a lovely 2 mile stroll downstream along side the River Lim into Lyme Regis. They met at the Holmbush Long Stay car park on Pound Street in Lyme Regis from where they walked down to the seafront and along the Cobb and then followed the Coast Path westwards uphill as far as Chimney Rock, enjoying a good view at the top of their climb. Next they followed a path onto Gore Lane, went across the top of Horseman’s Hill, and dropped down into the village of Uplyme. Those doing the 5-mile walk followed an easy route on footpaths downstream alongside the River Lim back into Lyme Regis. Those continuing with the longer walk tackled the longest climb of the day, reaching the top of Yawl Hill before dropping down through the garden of a pretty little thatched cottage to Whitty Down. They then enjoyed a series of quiet attractive paths past Rhode Hill and Dragon’s Hill, before reaching the River Lim. Walking downriver they walked past an old thatched mill, through meadows, and over footbridges on their way back to Lyme Regis stopping briefly at the micro brewery.
