Mount Hermon is the second highest peak in Lebanon at 2814m ASL. For serious hikers Hermon is a must do trail in spite of some difficulties to get permission going there, from the Lebanese Army and UN authorities, as it is located at the border between Lebanon, Syria and Israel
The trail started from Rachaya 1300 ASL going up all the way for around 10 Kms to reach an altitude of 2410 m (alas due to security reasons we couldn’t reach the peak). After a lunch break at Ain jerrnaya area we started descending the same way until reaching Rachaya village
