Sounds like a great trail! Are there any markers or directional signage on this trail?

Hi Gabriel & Emma,
From memory, generally, there weren't many markers or signage, with the exception of a couple of lookouts, which by the way had fantastic views. You could download the GPS file onto a phone app (we use the Australian Topo Maps app for Android phones) or GPS unit and follow our trail. The walk was all on fire trails or single tracks.

Was there anywhere along the hike you would consider reliable water?

I would say there should (no guarantee) be water most of the time at Rocky Creek, but that was mid-morning on day 2 for us. Other than that we found no water and carried enough for the whole hike.
