Recently upgraded this trail follows the same general route as the original tall tree trail which has existed here for decades, but had fallen into disuse and disrepair, the new trail intersects and overlaps the old trail most of its route, and will connect with other trails eventually on the upper portions of mounts Oldfield and Hays. Starting at the new cell tower, this trail is quite steep and rugged, and although as yet incomplete, it is very well engineered, and kudos to all those whose efforts contributed to this new substantial trail, very nice.
Some very well engineered creek crossing will last a lot longer than wooden bridges and require a lot less maintenance.
this as far as any new work had progressed as of March tenth 2016 when I recorded this. From this point you can still continue to follow the old trail which is still well worn, flagged and marked as it connects eventually to the top of mount Oldfield and Hays and the old kiwanis trail.
