The start point to this hike is past the town of wadi helo. It's at a spot called harrah. There is board that says " welcome to wadi helo archeological site" you enter here. As you enter take the path going left. It's a dusty road and fine for a sedan. You stop when you reach another board that says the same as the previous one.
Wadi helo has ruins dating back to the bronze age. People have lived in these settlements as recent as 50 years. Walk around the ruins, you will find some window patterns and narrow stairs. We walked to the end of the road and took a left going up the ridge. There are watchtowers up there.
When you reach the top of the ridge, you have the option to head right and follow the ridges to other peaks. We didnt do this. We walked left and made our way to the watchtower. The path is rocky but easy to maneuver.
The first watchtower has been re-built and from here there is a proper decent path. Take this on your way down.
The view of the settlement from up there gives you better perspective of what life much have been like. It was a very simple and casual hike. Something to get you out of the city. Hope you enjoy it!
