Dani Valverde obtained his Biochemy and Molecular Biology degree on 2002 at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Nowadays is carrying out his PhD at Grup d'Aplicacions Biomèdiques de la Ressonància Magnètica Nuclear (Biomedic Applications of the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Group) at the same university under the supervision of Dr. Carles Arús. On 2004 he obtained his master degree. His thesis is focused on human cerebral tumour diagnosis by NMR to develop a completely automated and noninvasive diagnosis system. Until now, he has published a cientific paper in NMR in Biomedicine and has contributed to some European Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and Biology meetings with posters and oral communications. Being a ornithology and mountain sports enthusiast, has good knowledge of the regions on Oriental Pyrenees, Garrotxa and l'Empordà. He belongs to the Birdingpal community, which intends to provide contact between worldwide traveling ornithologists. He is also an active member of 'Associació dels Amics dels Aiguamolls de l'Empordà (APNAE). He volunteers in the Fundació Territori i Paisatge (FTiP), being the responsible for ornithofauna monitoring and guided visits to one of their reserves, Mig de Dos Rius. He is a collaborator of l'Institut Català d'Ornitologia in programs such as monitoring post-nuptial migrations of raptors in Catalonia (PERNIS),Catalonia Common Birds Monitoring (SOCC) or Catalonia Wintering Birds Atlas. Finally, he has the auxiliary ringer license and takes part in ringing programs such as SYLVIA, passerines post-nuptial migration or PICCOLE ISOLE.
