Itinerary description

When it's summer time and the sun is scorching earth, seek the highlands. This trail took place in the highlands (jurd) of the Faraya area where the Shabrooh dam is located.
The trail started from the base of the dam and went up through cow-paths made by hikers and shepherds. After reaching the highest point, the trail took a left turn and started walking the ridge line of mountains overlooking the Nahr Ibraheem river valley where the greenery and fertile lands allowed civilizations to thrive; you could see the villages of Aaqoura, Afqa, Lasa, etc. The little dotted red houses among green plains made for a beautiful painting. We came across some new establishments on the top of the mountains in the middle of nowhere; However, these establishment pose a threat to environment especially with the waste they produce. Afterwards, the trail took a downhill path back to Shabrooh dam and to our cars.
The breeze was beautiful and made this trail bearable.
The trail is ranked as easy-moderate for seasoned hikers and difficult for novices.

This is a ridge with a 3 meters hole going through one side to the other. Our friend and fellow hiker Roger was the one who had his picture taken first and hence, it was baptized as Roger's hole.

Bar National Resto

A restaurant/club perched at the top of one of the hills. As beautiful as it is but this place poses an environment threat to nature especially that we saw the sewage is not treated and flows inside and outside the cement septic tank.
