Itinerary description
What an incredible experience! Every time u come to these mountains u stack tones of unforgettable memories. In this trail, we chose a sunny hot day in late April (it was 29 degree in Beirut) to head to the black peak trying to enjoy a mix of dirt road and snow at this time. IT WAS FREAKIN IMPOSSIBLE to reach the summit due to outward burst of strong winds. it was US VERSUS THE WIND. The four of us held each others hands and were advancing gradually but steadily at persevering pace. Some might say that the wind make the experience less enjoyable but i can assure u we were not able to stop laughing due to extreme excitement and joy. Make sure you have correct jacket, hat and ski goggles not standard sunglasses.
We parked at the second turn after the army check point on the road leading to Daher El Qadeeb. We couldn’t reach Daher El Qadeeb to park our car as road was still fully covered in snow. We started from way below. After reaching the first peak “Daher El Qadeeb” and assessing our situation we decided to continue to another peak and turn our way back. So we continued to Qornet Fahed and turned left towards the ski lifts. Had a lovely coffee break and started descending back to the car.
If my little sister wasn’t with us, The three of us would’ve continued to reach our target. But it was completely fine, we spent an amazing lovely day in there.
The trail is clear and easy with no technical difficulties. Rated it difficult bcz of the wind and steep angles requiring some physical efforts.
When the roads are accessible, u can park at Daher El Qadeeb, at my waypoint named “Daher El Qadeeb / Mar Charbel Shrine”
