Itinerary description
Throughout the four seasons the Bald Mountain Trail (Blue Trail off 9W) is really scenic. The parking area is just south of the Bear Mountain Bridge off 9W. Dating back to 1777, the trail is just north west of the road, a short distance from the mini bridge.
The hike starts on the historic Doodletown 1777 trail which is described more on the hike to Unfinished Tunnel/Dunderberg Railway found on page 33. Depending on your experience you may want to combine the two hikes and visit the ruins of the Unfinished Tunnel while on this hike. Remember to plan this hike accordingly when it comes to supplies, food etc., since it is long and adventurous.
