Itinerary description
Includes the Eye of the Needle (second half of hike).
Did the Mt Norman Summit hike first to beat the heat. Many people don't actually go to the summit as the ascent to the summit would be difficult for the inexperienced tourist hiker. The final scramble to the summit is moderately difficult but comfortable with grippy shoes.
On the way back, side trip to Mt Castle then onto The Eye of the Needle followed by The Sphinx and finishing at Turtle Rock.
Optional: Summit Turtle Rock but required a steep narrow rock climb/scramble (leave your backpacks at the start of the narrow scramble). Highly recommended for awesome views of The Sphinx and surrounds. The second highlight of the day!
