Itinerary description
A pleasant looped hike in the countryside and hills to the East of Monchique along quiet roads and tracks with panoramic views, the highlights of this hike is the Cork Oak trees, the elevated view of Monchique from Picota and of course Monchique town itself.

Apart from one little section where the path seemed to go into private property (which we decided to skirt), it was a lovely trail. Thank you Bernard!

First part of the trail goes through a small inhabited valley with lots of loose guard dogs that chased us down the street barking with one dog even nipping at our heels. Actually pretty terrifying. Apart from that section the trail was really nice.
